Ministry Groups

Family Faith Formation

St. George Church Family Faith Formation (formerly known as Religious Education) was completely restructured in 2021-22.  We are very excited about the new format, which is a combination of the following:  Family Gathering Sessions, Teaching Masses and In-Classroom Sessions.

Our Family Faith Formation program is available for children in grades K - 8th.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (“RCIA”) is a program where catechists, sponsors and directors accompany adults on their faith journey. They are guided to enter or to complete their initiation. They are prepared to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

All are welcome to join in the Journey in Faith. Many ordinary parishioners find the sessions helpful to develop their knowledge of their faith and their understanding of its traditions.

Family Ministry

Family Ministry partners with families to help them develop a strong family faith life. We strive to assist families to act on the values shown to us in the Gospel. We encourage all types and in all the stages of the family life cycle, to share their talents with the community. Together we can create a sense of belonging for all.  Family Ministry sponsors many fun activities for all to enjoy!

Pastoral Care Team

Our Pastoral Care team visits and distributes Eucharist to the homebound and those in nursing homes at least once a week and visits those in the hospital. If you know someone who is in need of this Ministry or if you would like to assist with this Ministry, please contact Deacon Milt Leppert.

Art & Environment Committee

St. George’s Art & Environment Committee is responsible for the beautification of the St. George Church. As the liturgical seasons change, the committee decorates God’s house with flowers, greenery, etc. This committee at St. George prides itself on being open and welcoming to new members.

Liturgy

Are you a friendly outgoing person? Do you like to read aloud? Are you interested in serving others? These questions can all be answered by participating in the liturgy.   Greeters and Ushers are the first impression people have of St. George as they attend Mass. Profess the Word of God by being a lector. Sacristans prepare the Eucharistic Table for all the Masses. Eucharistic ministers serve during Communion.

Altar Servers

Students may be altar servers (they must be going into the 4th grade and have received First Communion). This is a way children are able to serve and be an active part of their parish community.

Music Ministry

Music Ministry is open all ages. We have both adult and children's choirs.  We also offer instrumental accompaniment.
